Overview
Treasure Master Hack is a volunteer distributed computing project. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information we collect
If you create an account:
- Email address — used only for account verification, password reset, username recovery, and if you opt in, occasional project updates. Never shown publicly.
- Username and display name — your username is shown on the leaderboard by default. You may choose a display name to show in its place, or opt out of name visibility entirely, in your account settings.
- Password — stored as a salted hash. We cannot retrieve your plaintext password under any circumstances.
When you use the service:
- IP addresses — logged temporarily for security purposes (abuse detection, rate limiting). Not shared.
- Compute results — the outputs your client submits. Tied to your account for credit tracking and leaderboard purposes.
- Session cookies — transmitted over HTTPS only and inaccessible to scripts. Used to keep you logged in. Expire on logout or after inactivity.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
- We do not serve ads or use third-party analytics or tracking.
- We do not use your email address for anything other than account-related messages and, if you opt in, occasional project updates.
We send account-related emails (verification, password reset, username recovery) as needed. You may opt into occasional project update emails from your account settings. You can change this preference at any time.
Data retention
- Account data (username, email, display name, and preferences) is retained until you request deletion.
- Session and verification tokens expire automatically.
- Server logs are retained for approximately 3 months.
Account deletion
To request deletion, email us at contact@tm.micro500.org. We will remove your email address, username, password, and any other identifying information from your account. Your compute contributions are retained but permanently marked as anonymous — they continue to count toward overall search progress but are no longer linked to you in any way.
